Scrapbook Expo

This week, marked the anticipated Scrapbook Expo. I was so excited to attend, I wanted to see new releases and get to see the new papercrafts things that are up and coming.

This year the expo was at Town & Country Hotel in Fashion Valley. It was a smaller venue with not that many new things. The highlight of the day, was meeting the ladies from Lawn Fawn and creating a card with them. I also mentioned I'd like to see some lavender colors and iridescent colors from them.

I didn't spend a lot just, a few stamp sets from Lawn Fawn. They had a B3G1 free.

My daughter's birthday and graduation are on the same day. So we decide to spend the day celebrating as a small family before he big party on Saturday. Breakfast at her favorite pizza place, a trip to the train ride and carousel, a trip to the big toy store, and lastly dinner was her choice. As per request, she wanted crab salad and ceviche. I have a recipe for that already, so feel free to check it out!

December's Here!

Welcome to the continuation of the holiday season, one of my favorite holidays! It's beginning to look a lot like X-mas! I know, for that reason, I've asked Santa Claus for a special gift, to be blessed next year with love, money, and success. Not too much to ask for, lol. But I hope all will enjoy your holidays this year! I hope you will continue to read my blog and will shop by my store in January 2012!

Happy Holidays!

My new scrap trap

Hi Everyone!

How did everyone's weekend go, I started off by taking my babies bright and early to breakfast for some birria (mexican spicy beef stew w/meat not veg) and handmade tortillas. We tried this new restuarant down the street from our home. It was delicious, so we'll be back!

After, we headed to Target where I picked up the cutest scrap trap ever! I was looking for pink, but there was only blue-violet. I got this trashcan for all the scraps I've cut and I  needed a tabletop one. I got this bad boy for $1.

Just thought I'd share this with everyone!

Happy Sunday!

National Kidney Foundation Crop

My future SU Assistant, Marissa

Today I had so much fun getting together the make-n-its for National Kidney Foundation Crop. It was held in Bonita, CA and it was a fundraiser for helping those who can benefit from a kidney transplant. I participated in the Make-n-take and the craft garage sale. I sold at least $ 100 in old stampin' up stuff and some non-related Su products, that have lingered in my craft closet for so long. Email details to see what's left.

Genie Montoya, hosted the crop and did an absolutely fabulous job with providing refreshments, food, snacks, prices, and raffle games! I had so much fun!

My make-n- take projects are going to be posted tomorrow, but I made Chick Punch Art with Peppermint Pattie. Happy Easter Card, and Mini Scrapbook Page.

I was super happy to meet more Stampin' Friends and Family!

Until then,

Chio

Spring is in the Air!

Cranky Lately? Is it because Daylight savings time has started, so we lose a hour of sleep. Since, I'm already losing sleep since Freddie is teething, I take those lemons and make some delicious sweet lemonade. Spring is in the air, it's here! That means soon I'll be able to see florals everywhere. This is the inspiration behind today's project.

Last week we visited the Carlsbads, CA flower fields. They were just getting ready to bloom, we saw sweet peas, Ranaculus, poppies, and some lovely orchids and poinsettias. I can't wait for rows and rows of beautiful flowers! We even got to go mining for gem stones, such a great family weekend!

A crabby cake

Hi everyone!

It recently was my husband's birthday and he loves the DSC Show 'Deadliest Catch,' well he recently met DC's main character of the show Captain Sig Hansen in Los Angeles and even took a pic with him! Signed an autographed of the show's poster and even chit chatted with him about the fishing and the series. It was a great birthday to date! Inspired by this show, I decided to create a crab shaped crab for his birthday.

It's a chocolate devil's food cake with melting chocolate chips and rich buttercream icing (that's been tinted True Red and Orange) and ice frosting is using for the crab's bumps, buttercream frosting (white) for eyes with chocolates for eyes too.
I really enjoyed making this cake and hope to do more theme cakes in the future, maybe even get the Cricut Cake, I dunno yet!

CardMaker's Kit Card Club

hi everyone!

Well, cardmaker's magazine has started a club kit for card makers! From beginners to experienced, the kits are easy to put together with most supplies provided and a guide for your inspirations. I recently purchased a kit for $7.95 USD and $2.oo s&h costs, I got the April's Kit- Flowers. Inside this kit, was coordinating paper, a packet of 12-14 stamps, 1 sheet of transparent stickers and designs, punchouts, glitter, ribbon, brads, silk flowers, with cards and envelopes. Putting together the kit roughly makes 6-8 cards, depending on how detailed you get with your designs. You can stick to making the sample cards provided or make your own.

I had fun making the cards and trying some techniques suggested on their idea sheets, the stamps worked great with Staz on ink, but when it came to uding dye ink, they didn't take well to stamping, which was a real bummer, I was getting the kits for the stamps. Maybe next card kit will be different. You get a total kit for $12.00 plus $4 s&h when you purchase all six. Mailed to you from Annie's Attic.

To purchase their kits, www.cardmakersclub.com
Check out my video from youtube, on putting a sample card together.

He's here!

I went into labor on March 3rd, 2010 at 5:30pm, a great way to celebrate my birthday! Our plans were cancelled due to our hospital visit, but it was totally worth it. After 11 hours of labor (with no pain meds, I'm a trooper) I had a C-section. I wanted the baby to be born on the same day, but he missed the cut off by a couple of hours.
We welcome Alfredo Antonio!
