HandmadeQT: Lil pumpkin+pattern

I made this beanie for a friend who's having a baby boy this week. I decided to do fall/halloween theme. I made this with no pattern, adding texture with stitches to make it look more realistic. I really want to add curly cues, but didn't have time. I think I will make another and add curly cues.

Supplies:
Bright Orange
Bright Green
H-hook
I-hook
Yarn Needle
Stitch Marker

Pattern:

Stem:
Magic Circle of 4
Chain 2 single crochet in each stitch.
Stich 1 single crochet in each stitch until desired length of stem,  slip stitch.
Chain 2, add 2 single crochet in each stitch for 2 rounds, finish off, but leave tail long enough for sewing onto hat.

Beanie:
Magic Circle of 8
DO NOT JOIN, Chain 2 in each stitch.
1 Half Double Crochet, 2 HDC in the next.
1 HDC in the next 2 stitches, 2 hdc in the next.
1 HDC in the next 3 stitches, 2 hdc in the next.
1 HDC in the next 4 stitches, 2 hdc in the next.
1 HDC in the next 5 stitches, 2 hdc in the next.

1 SC all around, slip stitch, In back loop only, slip stitch, chain 1.
1 SC all around, in front loop, slip stitch, chain 1.
(Continue for 2 more rows, alternate)

Chain 2, 1 DC all around for 2 rounds, slip stitch, chain 1.
Single Crochet all around slip stitch.
Slip stitch all around to finish off, finish off, and weave in ends.
